An earlier example stemmed from a void in self discipline, a careless lapse that's easily construed as a circumstantial concern. Basically, I failed to note a court date and fell prey to the resulting consequences. Now, need I ask, was I a victim of circumstances, or a victim of consequences? Why the latter of course, as the consequences were avoidable had I but taken the time to express my concern in writing.
Many consequential concerns represent little more than harmless judgment calls, careless capers such as mine. But even so,
a consequential concern can spread into ever widening circles, where they don the costlier rolls capable of affecting larger segments of society.Often, an environmental concern, or even the feasibility of an epidemic purported by the media and/or government as localized events, may merely be masquerades to cover up other facts about their global consequences: e.g. mercury in the world's waters, DDT, Fluorocarbons, aids, and bird flu.
So if you care enough to help unmask one of these global dupes, don't act like an animated Homer. Instead of allowing these menaces to spread like the cancerous growth they represent, permit us to pen your concern to the party of choice. As many are the times when one can help turn a consequential concern against itself. But only by acting on such issues can we ever hope to create a conducive atmosphere for toppling this corrupted chain of command. Words can works wonders.
